Keeper's Notes
The story of A Light Left On
Coming home late as a child, you knew all was well if the lane's lamp was still lit. Living alone, you finally understand a kept light: come back late if you must — but come back.
This lamp blooms inside a peony. Warm light filters up between the petals, bright enough to comfort, dim enough to sleep by. A drop of oil on the petals, and light and scent share the night shift.

Moments it was made for
- First year living aloneNever fumbling for the switch — a small dignity you give yourself.
- The 3 a.m. feedA hundred times gentler than the ceiling light. When the baby is done, the flower is still up with you.
- For parents far awayNo manual: plug in, it glows. On video calls you'll see it lit behind them, and everyone rests easier.
