The story of Full Glory
Chinese blessings prize the word 'full' — a hall full of flowers, a house full of luck. The peony has always stood at the centre of the room; presence is its job.
At thirteen centimetres it is the largest bloom in the collection; the two-tone petals come from two glazes negotiating in the kiln. The grey-velvet box carries two bottles of oil. Hand it over without a speech — the weight explains itself.
